Introducing artificial intelligence for the woodworking industry!

PLANNING Assistant’s MAESTRO is a web-based project planning tool that was specifically developed for the woodworking industry. It assists shop managers in planning every step of their production process from office activities to installation.

By definition, Artificial intelligence leverages computers and machines to mimic the decision-making capabilities of the human mind. This is exactly what the new MAESTRO does. Woodworking shops around the globe are struggling with labor shortages, which increases the demand on the already overloaded Production Manager. They must manage the entire shop floor, hire and train new employees, and spend precious time collecting information on project status to prioritize them accurately.

WEB-CAB partnered with several customers to understand the decision-making process of production managers in order to develop a revolutionary solution that takes charge of the decision making related to the job prioritization process.

Through a set of customizable variables, WEB-CAB developed an algorithm that intuitively performs automatic job prioritization allowing production managers to spend their time where they are most valuable and not constantly reassessing priorities.

HOW IT WORKS?

Based on real time events on the shop floor, the A.I. powering the MAESTRO module will schedule or reschedule the most urgent tasks to the top of the list ensuring that workers are always working on the most important tasks.

With MAESTRO, manual intervention is no longer required to establish task priorities. It sets priorities based on your business criteria.
Based on the criteria set by the manager, the program will automatically schedule the next job to be performed at each station in the shop.
Not only is this solution powerful, it is also extremely flexible as different variables can be used at specific stations so the decision-making process adapts simultaneously to real time events, and every station as it analyzes the dependencies between stations (ex: the edge banding sequence will adapt itself according to the progress at the CNC).
